I chose to create a Princess and the Frog themed hanging sculpture consisting of a lily pad, lotus flower, and crown. I really enjoyed creating the piece because of its uniqueness. I used pinching as my main method of creation which included molding the clay with only my hands. The lotus flower was very interesting to make with the technique chosen. I used the palm of my hand to shape the petals, and the details imprinted onto the clay from the lines of my hands added the perfect touch. I also really like the details within the jewels of the crown as they appear geometrically pleasing to the eye. Finally, the lily pad almost looks real! The lined detail on the lily pad gives it the unmistakable characteristics of the aquatic plant. Overall, this hanging sculpture is one that I am proud of because it is such a life bringing piece that was fun to make!
